Our trip to Myrtle Beach!

We just recently got back from a wonderful trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. As many of you know, much of Tim's family is down in that area. His wonderful cousin, Gigi, rented a beach house for us all to stay at. And it was a blast! In our previous trips to SC, it's always been around Christmas, so Madalyn and Ava had never really had the chance to play in the ocean. This trip it was plenty warm (high 90's all week long!), and they had the time of their life on the beach. Ava was a little bit skeptical of the water at first, but learned very quickly how much fun it is to jump in the waves, and then we couldn't get her out!


We didn't really do a whole lot besides hang out at the beach, which actually was a very relaxing change of pace! We did go to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, which was a ton of fun. For those of you who have been to Medievel Times, it's much like that, only it's all about how North America came to be (North vs. South). The girls got a kick out of the chicken and pig races, and even got to pet some of the horses after the show. It was an interesting dinner, as they do not give you any utensils to use. I guess maybe the white sweatshirts for Madalyn and Ava wasn't the smartest idea!


We also had our usual adult bowling tournament. I managed to keep my title as "Queen of the Lanes" for yet another term. I'm not sure how, as I really haven't bowled in the last two years. It must be that fresh ocean air down there! Overall, it was a great trip, and we are already looking forward to hopefully getting down there again next summer!
